VIRTUAL STUDIO \ GROUP LESSON DESCRIPTION

The next in our popular series of online group classes will be focused on individual works of art, ‘Masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance’ and will run for four weeks beginning on Saturday 13th November. Join Julian and a small group for his 90 minute classes in which you will hear stories of these amazing artistic triumphs and work alongside him to create another exciting image in your ‘virtual travel journals’.

Each lesson will be divided between these areas of interest while sketching and painting in our travel journals. Every week we will focus on a different aspects of this vibrant country. The classes will be a mix of Art History, a little culture, and of course some drawing and painting in our virtual travel journals. We’ll “visit” the masterpieces - in painting, sculpture, and architecture, and discover how to translate this into a visual journey through our travel journals.

Students will be working alongside Julian during these live sessions as he explains travel sketching, watercolour painting, and how to make a beautiful and rewarding travel journal. The group will be limited to 12 students (in 2 timezone groups) in order that you will have an opportunity for one-on-one personal assistance and critique. We hope this will be a lot of fun and that the group atmosphere will inspire you to produce some terrific artwork.

GROUP LESSONS

All levels welcome. From beginner to professional, these virtual lessons are valuable to expand your abilities, skills, and range of possibilities. In a fun and relaxed atmosphere, you’ll be able to receive the time and attention you’ll need to accomplish your goal of either continuing on current work, or creating something new for the first time!

Each group online lesson will be conducted through Zoom (the virtual classroom). We will send complete instructions on how to easily connect to this after sign up. All you’ll need to do is click the link and we’ll be waiting!

INSTRUCTOR

Julian Hyzler will be your instructor for this unique online program. As the founder of Artist in Italy and Easel&Lens, he has been leading international art groups for over 12 years and teaching students of all ages and abilities for over 25 years. Adept in various mediums and techniques, from painting (oil, acrylic, water) and drawing, to photography and mixed media, Julian will lead each student in a personalised program designed for each skill-level and interest.
